Use Track Color

Extend each track’s color across the arrange and mixer backgrounds — with independent opacity for selected, auxiliary, and output tracks.

What it does

Use Track Color takes the color you already assign to a track in Logic Pro’s mixer and arrange window and extends it across the background of that track. Instead of a flat gray canvas, every lane and channel strip carries its own identity, so you can find the right track at a glance.

Controls

Open the Use Track Colors panel to tune how strongly the color reads in each context. Opacity is set independently per track state and per track type:

Tips

Keep base opacity low (10–25%) for a subtle wash that aids navigation without distracting from waveforms and automation. Push selected-state opacity higher so the focused track is unmistakable. Pair this with matching mixer colors for a fully coherent session.
